Laughter is the best medicine!

After such a heavy topic, lets cool things off. Since it is already hot out there, I do not intend to increase the temperature. So lets talk about humor, jokes, comedy, laughter

Have you ever watched a comedy movie alone, and it didn’t even crack a smile on your face, but when you watched it again with your friends or family, suddenly it was the funniest movie ever and you laughed your head off none stop. Why? Well it seems that humor or laughter is infectious. It is contagious. When you are all alone, there is no one who can share the happiness with you. So is it true that laughter is the best medicine?

I like reading Readers Digest, and the “Laughter is the best medicine” segment would be the first part that I will be reading. The jokes never fail to make me laugh (although I’m reading alone, I’ll still laugh like crazy) and that is my monthly dose of medicine.
According to research, laughter can reduce pain, discomfort, stress (with the release of endorphins) and decrease our blood sugar level. It also helps our blood vessel function well . It also lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. Besides that, it boosts our immune system.

And jokes will definitely help a lot in understanding language better (this applies to smart jokes). It is actually not easy to understand jokes. There are thinking skills involved (lateral thinking skills, according to De Bono). Lateral thinking is defined as a technique of problem solving by approaching problems indirectly at diverse angles instead of concentrating on one approach at length. This can be applied to jokes as in understanding jokes, there are various angle and approach that we choose to think to understand it.

So I guess a joke or two a day will be great! Just please don’t joke about other people ok. Ready to smile & laugh :)) Check this out
